Funky laces

So my niece, Hannah, loves to wear All-Star sneakers…we actually bought her the white pair she still wears.  Before that she had a pair that she had made very colorful with her own art work.  She is a very talented artist…not just on shoes of course!  Any hoo…she turned 16 this month and I decided along with a gift card she would get a pair of funky shoe laces…or 2.  Here they are…what do you think?

I thought you might want to see the aglets close up…you know those little plastic things at the ends.

They’re made with heat shrink tubing…the stuff you put around electrical wires.  All you do is slip the fabric in and heat it up with an embossing heat gun (or equivalent) and it shrinks tight to the fabric…then you trim the end nice and neat.  Pretty snazzy, eh?  Again, another thought on what to make for the Nov. craft fair…penny for your thoughts…

Love the laces and the other post with the number shirts!!! I think both would be great ideas for the craft fair and would sell like hot cakes 🙂
